Over the past number of years all Health Centres in Mayo have been upgraded to ensure they are wheelchair accessible and also have Wheelchair Toilet facilities.
All Health Centres are monitored on an ongoing basis to ensure that facilities are maintained to a high standard.

I am deeply concerned about a friend of mine ( Helen Wall) Charlestown, Co. Mayo when she had to go on Mid West Radio today complaining about not been able to access the Breast Cancer unit at Mayo General Hospital just because she was a wheelchair user.
I myself complained about the same hospital as far back as February 18th 2008 and still nothing has been done about it.
I would like to know the name of the Access Officer covering the Mayo Area and if audits were carried out to all Health Centers.
I await a reply.
