Hi Tom,

I contacted Caroline from the Croke Park Hotel – she said she'd send me the notes next week when she's back off holiday.

In regards to the hotel – legally if that's their policy they are well within their rights – did they provide you with their cancellation policy – or is it detailed on their website ?

If you were not informed of their no refund policy then you have a chance to argue with them.

Kind Regards

Nina

Nina,

I have booked a hotel in Strasbourg for 6 nights and wish to unbook it but as the hotels policy will not allow me to do it. I also have provisionally booked rooms in the hostel where we stayed the last time and is located close to where the action will be.

Could you ask your solicitor friend is there and way the hotel could be cancelled.

Fw: Healthcare Focus Group

Sent: Thursday, August 18, 2011 3:39 PM
Subject: Healthcare Focus Group

We have had two healthcare focus group meetings already and have looked very generally at how people with disabilities are treated within the healthcare services.

The next upcoming meeting will be held on:

Date: Wednesday 24th August 6.30 –9.30 pm

Location: The Green Room, the Macros Resource Centre, 1 Green Street, Dublin 7.

Refreshments will be provided.

We are setting a more defined agenda in order to give people a chance to think about the topics we hope to discuss beforehand. To begin we hope to look at specific male and female health areas particularly around the areas of cancer checks. To do this we will divide the group into a male only group and a female only group to cover these areas.

After these discussions we will move forward towards getting ideas from people on how they think the healthcare services can be improved for people with disabilities – by looking at all the different areas we have covered from GPs, Chiropodists, Dentists, A & E, Hospitals, Outpatient Appointments etc.  We would like to create something of a "wish list" of what people want, that could be used in creating some kind of charter for what people with disabilities want from their healthcare services and that can be presented at the conference we plan to hold as a result of these meetings. Again we do not expect to come up with answers or solutions from this meeting but we do plan to run a number of information evenings following the conference that will focus on answering questions that people may have on particular topics.

Please let us know if you would be interested in attending this event so that we can cater for numbers. You can rsvp directly to me at sineaddunne@gdil.ie or on 01-8737039 and ask for Sinead or Annie.
