Dermot,
I am not aware of your troubles with the Centre for Independent Living, LTD.
I did read your email and fully agree if you or anyone else working in any
Organisation or Charitable groups, if you have any knowledge of wrong
dooings or miss use of funding if giving by the Government or collected by
the public, you must bring the information to the proper officers to have it
investacated and make sure the results are published.
I feel so upset and disgusted at what I heard for the last few days, I am
not surprised at what is taken place.
CEO & chairpersons are often retired Sivel Servants with good pensions from
their previous jobs.
They often are the CEO of more than 1 Board.
My opinion is that these positions should be given to those young graduates
who are well Educated and now they may not have jobs.
I have a cutting from a paper from 3 years ago.
It gives the salaries for CEO and the money taken out of the amount of
moneys they collect.
The payments per year range from the highest CEo receiving 150 Thousand
Euros to the lowest getting 101 Thousand Euros.
I passed a copy of this to a Fena Faile Minister at that time, I heard
nothing until it was highlighted in the past few weeks.

People with Disabilities, Mental Health, older people and the poor, are once
again the ones to take the hit.
We are all ashamed that moneys are collected and paid in our names and then
creamed off for all those fat cats.
they have no Consciouns or shame.
Poor little Ireland!!!
We have far to many members in the Dail, all getting large salaries, big
expensis, Offices in Dublin, 1 sometimes 2 in every County, Secretaries in
them all.
Every time the Government change they push out those in the different
committees and put in their own friends.
The names of the Department and that of Social Welfare have changed 3 times
in about 20 years or less.
these changes cost the Country millions.
one croud put the different services in local County Councils the next ones
change it and centerlise everything to Dublin.
they outsorce most services, this means they have no responsability when
things go wrong.
We the public don't know if we are going or coming.
They got rid of the only Organisation for Disability, we were replaced by
different groups picked by Kathleen Lynch.
They launched the stratigy for disability and for older people.
the only thing we saw since they took office, is cuts after cuts, they do
say they did not cut the basic pensions.
Dermot now you understand just how low I feel about all injustice done.
36 years, I have worked to improve the lives of us people with Disabilities
and Mental Health.
the work is going backwards instead of forward.
most of us would never qualify for a loan from any Bank or finance Company,
yet we are the groups hit most with the cuts.
We will make sure this Government & the previous one understand how we feel.
All organisations & Charity groups must be made accountable for the moneys
they are given, it must be published what they are paying their staff and
from what funds they are paying them.
I will enjoy Christmas.
I do hope you can do the same.
Happy Christmas to you & yours.
I tried sending this to your list but it did not go, feel free to forward it
if you so wish.
Yours sincerely,
Breda O'Sullivan.
