Subject: Disability sector damaged and needs to change urgently
Hello
As you all read and listened to over the last 10 day there has been a lot of damage to the us people with a disability.
This is a now a great time to demand that Article 19 of the UN Convention be implemented now.
Also all those organization that represent people with a disability need to re look at what they do.Plus what money they have either collected or from the Tax payer. Needs to accounted for each single euro. Do ask.
We also need to examine the expenses ie car, meals, over nights and the use of mobile phones for person use. Yes I do know there is misuse in a number of cases of these benefits. Especially those on Board and Committee who are key to the change. As I have see first hand of accounts, how they can hid at lot of figures to the untrained eye. If there were broken down would shock at lot of people.
Example a well know organization had over 50,000 euro in expenses in the last few years. That a lot of money. Who got it and why.???
We need to have whistle blowers to have the confidence to stand up and speak out. Like I am doing right now.
No one is too big to take down.Your conscious must speak up and do not tolerate wrong doing. I lDID act.
Be careful with media. Have your hard face like me and ensure you check them with a good friend.
The vast salaries of the CRC Ceo and previous ones were massive by any standard.
All in the name of helping us people with a disability. While many adults with a disability live on less than 200euro per week.
I cry out when I think of this and the vast amount used, often lack transparency.
I know I am not the only one thinking this way. You need to be informed and act.
Example Independent Living was formed on the back of volunteers. Who never got any money for it. Out of need and passion.
Not alone is CIL well know in every county it have give hope and opportunity to many people.
