Good Afternoon Thomas,
Thank you for taking the time to write a reveiw to us we are sorry you experienced difficulties with our facilities, as we can only improve our standards by what we learn from our guests, the photos of the hand basin is not the basin in the bedroom, but is the basin from the public  toilet area which is used only for the hand wash facility only, you may not have been aware but there is also another enabled access facility on the mezzenine level which is accessed by lift and it is the new facility which was put into place when the hotel was reopened in 2006.The shower has a ramp so that the guest can go from chair to shower, we also have a chair in the shower area availble but I am so sorry this was not made available to yourself for the shower area as this room is also used for other persons in busy times so may have been removed from the shower area, we do have several enabled access guests staying on a regular basis and at no time have they brought anything like this to our attention, we will however take everything you have outlined to us on board and do our best to work with these issues,  thank you for the kind comments about the staff as we always strive to keep all our guests happy whilst they are staying with us and give them a good experience in Gallagher's Hotel if you would like to discuss this further please do not hesitate to contact me.

When I booked a room in your hotel on the 7th August I requested a wheelchair accessible room. When I arrived on the date the girl at reception even asked me if I needed a wheelchair roomand was directed to room 106 which was totally unaccessible for a wheelchair user. I was unable to use the WC, shower unit and even had a problem washing my face. (photos included). This is not good enough, but I will say this much, the staff were very friendly to me but that does not help my memory of the night I stayed in your hotel.
I spoke with a girl at reception about access in the room and she said she would speak to the assistant manager and get back to me but nothing happened. I explained that I had been looking for a night away from home to celebrate my 66 th birthday a day I will never forget. As an access campaigner I know that I am talking about.
 
A very unhappy customer.
