Hi,
I am part of RTÉ's Audience Council. The event detailed below may be of interest to some here.
As an aside, I have reminded RTÉ that subtitling for this live stream does not only support people who are deaf or hard of hearing. It also supports those for whom English is not their first language, and that is likely to make up a large proportion of the audience to this event. It also ensures that there is a text record of the event which helps in later extracting key points and searching for specific themes or phrases.
The RTÉ Audience Council present: Other Faces, Other Voices: Migrant Representation & Participation in RTÉ. A public discussion chaired by Andy Pollak, Former Director of The Centre for Cross Border Studies. Thursday 20th March in Studio 1, RTÉ Radio Centre, Donnybrook, Dublin 4 at 6pm. While all are welcome to apply and tickets are free, places are limited. To apply, email Audiencecouncil@rte.ie. Closing date for applications is Friday 14th March. The event will be streamed on rte.ie/live on the night. Find out more on www.rte.ie/about
Take care,
Gerry Ellis
If you don't know where you're going,
How will you know when you get there?
