And thank you for reaching out to be a part of our Young African Leaders Initiative.  I launched this effort because I believe that the future of Africa will be defined by extraordinary young people like you, and the United States wants to be your partner. At our town halls at the White House and in Soweto, and in my meetings with young people across Africa, you've shown me that you have the talent, the drive, and the determination to become the next generation of African leaders.

That's the spirit behind our Washington Fellowship program, which gives young Africans the opportunity to come to America and develop new skills and partnerships. To all of you — the nearly 50,000 who applied — I want you to know that I've heard you.  Your applications were extraordinary.  Your experiences, and your vision for your communities and your countries, are an inspiration.  And as we go forward, we're going to ensure that although we couldn't accept everybody into the Fellowship there will be opportunities for each and every one of you to somehow be involved.

That's why today I'm excited to announce the newest part of our effort — the Young African Leaders Initiative Network.  And I'm asking each of you to help lead the way.  Because we're already connected with you, and we want to build our relationship with you into a network of young people across Africa — to share new ideas and forge new collaborations.  Working together, we can build the tools, training and technology you need to become the next generation of leaders in civil society, business and government.

I want to hear from you on how we can build this network.  In the coming months, I'll engage with you directly — online and through social media — to hear your ideas and answer your questions.  To learn more about how to participate, just go toYALI.state.gov.   I hope every single one of you will join us.  Because your countries need you.  The world needs you.  We need your imagination, your optimism, and your idealism.  And with this new network, I know we can be partners for decades to come.

Multi-million pound fund to help disabled people to stay in their own homes.

Thousands of disabled people in Scotland are set to be supported through a new Scottish Independent Living Fund (SILF), Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced today. 

The scheme will safe-guard support given to more than 3,000 disabled people across Scotland and will build on existing care through a £5.5 million investment which will re-open it to new users, ensuring its long-term future.

The current UK Government's support scheme is due to close in June 2015 and has been closed to new users since 2010.

The Scottish Government's scheme will continue to provide vital everyday assistance to disabled people, allowing them to remain living at home and participate in work, training and education.

Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said:

"Everyone should have the same freedom, choice and dignity to live independent lives at home, at work and in the community. Today we are safe guarding that right for the people of Scotland.

"Last year we met with disability groups who asked that a Scottish Independent Living Fund be re-opened to new users, while protecting the packages of existing users.

"We were also asked that we jointly develop the scheme with disabled people on a national basis. We have listened to their views, which is why we are protecting existing users and opening the fund to new users.

"The Scottish system will be run nationally with disabled people at the heart of its decision making.

"We are not only protecting funding packages for existing users, but providing an extra £5.5 million to re-open the fund to those who have not been able to access the current care package since its closure.

"Today's commitment from the Scottish Government will allow new applicants in the first year to benefit from the funding, giving them a quality of life that everyone should be entitled to.

"There is no doubt that people in Scotland are paying a heavy price for Westminster decisions but we will do all we can to help. However, only in an independent Scotland will we have the full powers we need to protect our most vulnerable people and help them fulfil their potential in work and life."

Following negotiations with the UK Government to transfer management of the current Independent Living Fund (ILF) to the Scottish Government, a new Scottish Independent Living Fund (SILF) will be set up to protect and enhance services when the UK Government scheme closes in 2015.

The Scottish Government's SILF will come into effect in July 2015, subject to the full allocation of funding being devolved to the Scottish Government.

Unlike England, where the responsibility for the ILF will be devolved to local authorities, the Scottish Government will develop a national system run by the third sector.

The budget for SILF will be made up of the transfer of the current funding levels alongside the Scottish Government's £5.5 million investment.

Individuals are referred to the fund via local authority social services.

Pakistani man held for cannibalism after eating baby

The man admitted the terrible crime after being arrested by police. He had already served two years in prison for cannibalism.

A PAKISTANI MAN was arrested today on suspicion of cannibalism when the head of a newborn baby was found at his home – three years after he was jailed for the same offence.

Police raided the house in a remote village in Punjab province after neighbours complained of a foul smell and found the head of the two-day-old baby inside.

Householder Mohammad Arif admitted eating the child after his brother stole the body from a graveyard in Darya Khan village, around 300 kilometres south of Islamabad, officers said.

Arif and his brother Farman Ali were arrested for eating human corpses in the same village in April 2011 and served two years in prison, in a case that shocked Pakistan.

"Arif has been arrested and he has confessed that his brother brought the dead body of the newborn from the nearby graveyard," Ameer Abdullah, police chief of Bhakkar district where the village is located, told AFP.

"Arif told police that both of them later cooked the dead body and ate it."

There is no specific law against cannibalism in Pakistan's penal code, so as in the 2011 case Arif has been charged with desecrating a dead body and public order offences.

In the earlier case police found the body of a 24-year-old woman who had recently died of cancer at the men's house – minus a leg, which they had eaten.

A hunt is under way to find Ali, Abdullah said, while Arif will undergo psychiatric tests.

Zafar Iqbal, a police official in Darya Khan police station, where Arif is being held, told AFP that the men's wives and family members had left them some years ago and both were living in the house in isolation.

"The neighbours complained to police of a foul stench and police raided the house immediately. We arrested him after discovering a head of a baby. Arif has admitted his crime," Iqbal said.

The mysterious death of Peaches Geldof and the VIP child-abuse connection

Peaches Geldof has died in mysterious circumstances, apparently after posting a photo of herself with her late mother, Paula Yates.

According to the Mail:

" A spokesman for Kent Police said: 'Police were called to an address in Wrotham, Kent, following reports concerning the welfare of a 25-year-old woman.

'The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by South East Coast Ambulance Service.

'At this stage the death is being treated as unexplained and sudden. They are now working to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.'

Peaches was the second daughter of Bob Geldof and Paula Yates and the granddaughter of Hughie Green. Her sisters are Fifi Trixibelle Geldof and Pixie Geldof. She also has a younger half-sister, Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof."

Is her death linked to Britain's VIP child-abuse ring?

Her grandfather, Hughie Green, was a BBC presenter for many years.

He must have known child-raping filth, Jimmy Savile.

Hughie Green was a great fan of Margaret Thatcher, who in turn was close chums with Savile.

There have been many strange and unexplained deaths of celebs linked to the BBC.

Michael Hutchence and Paula Yates died within 3 years of each other, in apparent drug-related suicides.

Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen died in mysterious circumstances in New York.

Natasha Collins and Mark Speight both met an untimely and suspicious end.

Jill Dando was shot point-blank in the head on her doorstep, in 1999.

Were these deaths to silence witnesses who may have had knowledge of the BBC paedophile-ring and to warn others to keep their mouths shut?

According to the Tap blog:

" On 22 November 1997, Hutchence was found dead in a hotel room in Sydney. Paula Yates wrote in her police statement that Michael Hutchence was "frightened and couldn't stand a minute more without his baby".

During their phone conversations on the morning of his suicide he had said, "I don't know how I'll live without Tiger".

Yates also wrote that Bob Geldof had threatened them repeatedly with,

"Don't forget, I am above the law".^[

This was also the favourite saying of Jimmy Savile, whenever he was threatened with exposure.

Has Bob Geldof hoodwinked the British public, Savile-style, by pretending to be a charitable. caring, family-man?

By a strange coincidence, Bob Geldof owned the Planet 24 TV company along with gay-lord Waheed Alli and his partner Charlie Parsons.

Waheed Alli appears to have a strange hold over Parliament and is seen as a powerful behind-the scenes "fixer", along with his pal Peter Mandelson.

Does Alli have anything to tell us about the VIP paedophile ring linked to Parliament?

At the time of the murder Jill Dando, the Crimestoppers helpline number conveniently stopped working, just when crucial evidence could have been offered.

The Crimestoppers organisation may well be a "front" organisation with sinister ulterior motives and is run by some very interesting names:

1) Nick Ross-

The former colleague of murdered presenter Jill Dando. He recently said he'd watch child-porn given half the chance. His wife Sarah Caplin, is a cousin of Esther Rantzen and a founding director of Childline. Suspicions have been raised that Childline is also a "gatekeeping" front organisation which is used to gather data on any child abuse reports that may involve VIPs.

2) Michael Ashcroft-

The controversial Tory donor who pays no tax and has non-dom status. He has been described as ruthless and "not a man to cross". Made a Baron by the Queen.

3) Peter Imbert-

A former Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police who was in charge from 1987-1993 and may have a lot of information about why child- abuse claims made between these dates were ignored. Made a Baron by the Queen.

4) Lord Waheed Alli-

The first openly gay peer in Parliament and a wealthy entrepreneur. Owns a business, Shine Entertainment, with Rupert Murdoch's daughter Elisabeth. Is a close friend of Tony Blair. Made a Baron by the Queen.

5) Peter Clarke-

A former Metropolitan Royal protection officer in charge of guarding Princess Diana at the time of her death. Made a CBE by the Queen.

6) Sir Ronnie Flanagan-

A former Chief Inspector of Constabulary. Was previously in charge of policing in Northern Ireland and Iraq. May have a lot of information about why child-abuse rings have been covered up.

In March 2014, the Mail reported in the disturbing case of High-Court judge, Adrian Fulford, who was linked to the Paedophile Information Exchange Network.

According to Companies House, Fulford is the director of a film company called Mole Films LLP. They were responsible for the TV children's series, Secrets of Benjamin Bear.

The company is linked to Ingeneous Media, which helps wealthy individuals avoid tax by investing money in film projects.

By a strange twist, Bob Geldof is himself a director at Ingeneous Media.

Bob Geldof is also incredibly close to Tony Blair, who in turn is incredibly close to Margaret Hodge, MP.

Margaret Hodge has this week apologised for her failings during the Islington children's home abuse scandal, which allowed thousands of boys to be raped by VIP filth.

Is Margaret Hodge really sorry or just sorry she got caught?

Despite this scandal leading to the tragic death of Jason Swift, Hodge was never investigated and was instead, quite unbelievably, given the job of Children's Minster, by Tony Blair. ( Lord Waheed Alli lives in Islington).

In a macabre twist of fate, her nephew Philip, was at the Warner resort in Praia de Luz when Madeleine McCann went missing.

Cliff Richard is also close to Tony Blair and may have lots to tell the police about child-abuse and the death of Jill Dando.

In a bizarre twist, Cliff also owns a home in Portugal, not far from where Madeleine McCann disappeared in 2007.

Gerry and Kate McCann were immediately given high-level support from the UK government and were assigned the help of Clarence Mitchell to act as their spokesperson.

Mitchell was one of the first reporters at the scene of Jill Dando's murder in Fulham and no doubt works for the UK Intelligence Services.

The McCann family are themselves from Leicester and Gerry has many friends in high places in the area.

Labour peer, Greville Janner, who has worked closely with Waheed Ali, was accused of buggering a boy in care but instead of being arrested and jailed he was given a knighthood by Tony Blair.

How very, very strange indeed.
